Cleaver Kitchen Support
We’re happy to help. Most answers are on this page, and a real person reads every email.
Importing recipes
- Link: paste a recipe website link. Links without “https://” (like example.com/recipe) work too.
- Photo: snap or choose a photo of a cookbook page. Text is recognized on your iPhone.
- Pinterest pin: paste a pin link or share a pin to Cleaver Kitchen. It follows the pin to the recipe site behind it.
- X post: paste a link to a recipe post on X. For long posts, use the in-app browser or paste the text, or turn on the optional “Read Long X Posts & Photos via fxtwitter.com” in Settings (off by default).
- Share sheet: share a recipe page from Safari or another app.
- In-app browser: browse to a recipe inside Cleaver Kitchen and save it.
- Paste text: paste a recipe’s text if a page can’t be read.
- Check the preview before saving. If part of an import looks rough, Cleaver Kitchen marks it “Please check” so you can fix it first.
- If a page is broken or blocks imports, you’ll see a clear message. Open it in the in-app browser or paste the recipe text instead.
Cooking Mode and voice control
- Cooking Mode walks you through one recipe step by step in big, easy-to-read text.
- Voice control is free: turn on Voice Control in Settings, then in Cooking Mode hold the mic and say “next,” “back,” “timer,” or “read step.”
- Run several timers at once. Timers appear in the Dynamic Island and as Live Activities on your Lock Screen.
iPhone Duo
Cooking Mode adapts to how you hold your iPhone Duo:
- Closed: the current step, timers, and big Prev / Next buttons on the outer screen.
- Half-open on the counter: the step on the top half; that step’s ingredients, timers, and big Prev / Next buttons on the bottom half.
- Flat: the full step list on the left, ingredients and timers on the right.
Each step shows just the ingredients it uses. On other iPhones, Cooking Mode works just as before.
Cook Together
Pick the dishes you’re making and set when you want to eat. Cleaver Kitchen builds one timeline that works backward from your serve time and tells you when to start each step. It starts each step’s timer and reminds you when to begin the next.
How to start:
- In the Library tab, tap the flame Cook Together button in the top-left toolbar. You need at least 2 recipes in your library.
- Or open the Meal Plan tab, tap a day with recipes, choose View Day, then Cook Together.
- Tick your recipes, tap Build Timeline, then Start Cook Plan.
Things to know:
- Cook Together assumes one cook doing hands-on steps one at a time, so some dishes may be ready a few minutes apart.
- Step times come from the recipe text, with estimates when a recipe has none. They can’t be edited yet.
- Timers start automatically only while the app is open.
Meal Plan and Shopping List
- Plan the week or the month in Meal Plan.
- Ingredients from every recipe you add to your plan merge into one shopping list, grouped by aisle.
Free and Cleaver Kitchen Pro
- Free: up to 15 recipes in your Library, every cooking feature including voice control, and Cook Together for up to 2 dishes at a time.
- Cleaver Kitchen Pro: unlimited recipes and Cook Together with 3 or more dishes.
- Plans: Monthly $4.99, Yearly $29.99, or Lifetime $79.99 (one-time purchase). US prices; prices may vary by region.
Purchases, restore, and offer codes
- The Cleaver Kitchen Pro screen opens from Settings > Upgrade to Cleaver Kitchen Pro, when you reach the 15-recipe limit, or when you choose 3 or more dishes in Cook Together.
- Restore: reinstalled or got a new iPhone? On the Cleaver Kitchen Pro screen, tap Restore Purchases, using the same Apple Account you bought with.
- Offer codes: tap Redeem Offer Code on the Cleaver Kitchen Pro screen or in Settings, and enter your code in Apple’s redeem sheet. You can also redeem it in the App Store app.
- Manage or cancel a subscription in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your iPhone.
Export and backup
- In Settings, tap Export All Recipes to save your whole library (ingredients, steps, notes, and ratings) as one file you can keep or move.
- Use Import Backup in Settings to load that file again, for example after reinstalling. Recipe photos aren’t included in the backup file.
New in Cleaver Kitchen 2.1.5
- Smarter imports from recipe sites that don’t use a standard recipe card.
- A “Please check” flag when an import looks rough, so you can tidy it up before saving.
- Clear messages when a page is broken or blocks imports.
- Links without “https://” now work.
- Better handling of fractions.
- VoiceOver and larger-text improvements.
- Your app version and build number are shown in Settings.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I import recipes from?
From a recipe website link, a photo, a Pinterest pin, a recipe post on X, the share sheet, or the in-app browser. You can also paste recipe text. If a page can’t be read, open it in the in-app browser and save it from there, or paste the text.
Does Cleaver Kitchen work on iPhone Duo?
Yes. Cooking Mode adapts when your Duo is closed, half-open, or flat (see iPhone Duo above). Make sure you have the latest version from the App Store.
What’s the difference between Free and Pro?
Free holds up to 15 recipes in your Library and plans up to 2 dishes at a time with Cook Together. Every cooking feature, including voice control, timers, Meal Plan, and Shopping List, is free. Cleaver Kitchen Pro adds unlimited recipes and Cook Together with 3 or more dishes.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Settings in Cleaver Kitchen, tap Upgrade to Cleaver Kitchen Pro, then tap Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple Account you bought with. If Pro still doesn’t show, email us with the approximate purchase date.
How do I redeem an offer code?
In Cleaver Kitchen, tap Redeem Offer Code in Settings or on the Cleaver Kitchen Pro screen, then enter your code. You can also open the App Store app, tap your profile picture, tap Redeem Gift Card or Code, and enter it there. If Pro isn’t active right away, tap Restore Purchases on the Cleaver Kitchen Pro screen.
Do I need an account?
No account needed. Cleaver Kitchen has no accounts at all, so there’s nothing to sign up for or sign in to.
Does Cleaver Kitchen track me?
No. The app has no ads, no analytics, and no tracking, and your recipes, plans, and lists stay on your iPhone. Read the Privacy Policy for details.
